Autism Assessment and Diagnosis

Reliable autism diagnosis using widely recognised tools - ADOS and ADI-R

Service Description

An autism diagnosis is a comprehensive assessment process carried out by qualified healthcare professionals to determine whether an individual meets the criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The diagnosis is based on the criteria outlined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5), which is a classification system for mental health disorders. Our autism assessments conform to NICE guidelines and use widely recognised diagnostic tools, such as the ADI-R and ADOS II. We make available diagnostic assessments for children and adults. Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by challenges in social communication and interaction, as well as repetitive behaviours and restricted interests. Autism is considered a spectrum disorder because it varies widely in presentation and severity. Individuals with ASD may have different strengths and challenges, and the diagnosis reflects this diversity. Having a diagnosis enables access to services, resources, tailored support and other forms of support in education and employment. The diagnostic process involves gathering an extensive developmental history, which can be completed online with someone who can recall this information, such as carer or parent. Then in order to complete ADOS II assessment, face-to-face appointments are undertaken. We operate in South Wales locality. The cost of an ASD assessment is £2000. We require a non-refundable deposit £100 at the time of booking. To make enquires navigate to the contact tab.
